Business Dialogue

‘Interactions between state and industry and their influence on the development of animal production in Russia’

Animal production is currently top priority in Russian agricultural policy. At the end of January 2010, President Medvedev signed the so-called ‘Doctrine of Food Security’ which provides for an 80 to 95-% increase in nutritional self-sufficiency and aims to drive forward dairy and meat production in Russia. To be able to reach this goal in the foreseeable future, all stakeholders - state, meat and dairy producers as well as the suppliers of animal technology, farm inputs and animal genetics – will have to unite in their efforts.

Business Dialogue brings together the key market players. Here they will discuss existing framework conditions, factors conducive to the further development of animal production in Russia, problematic issues, conflicts of interest and possible solutions.

Participants:
Representatives of the Russian Federation’s Ministry of Agriculture, the Agricultural Committee of the State Duma as well as the Federation Council Committee on Food, Agricultural Policies and Fisheries; owners and managing directors of animal-producing enterprises; investors; suppliers of animal technology and feed as well as veterinary medicines and other inputs for animal production; representatives of the regional administrations as well as finance structures that grant agricultural loans
