More than 14,000 visitors at the largest trade fair for modern animal production - 421 exhibitors from well-known brands in the industry - many specials on current topics

(DLG International). In the thirteenth year of its successful existence, AgroFarm has continued to expand its position as the most important information platform for industry professionals and as a driving force for future-oriented animal production in Russia.

From 5 to 7 February 2019, 421 exhibitors from 30 countries presented their latest developments and solutions for dairy and beef cattle farming, pig and poultry production, special areas such as rabbit and goat farming and the processing of products of animal origin at the VDNH exhibition centre in Moscow on an area of 18,500 square metres.

This year, more than 14,000 trade visitors from all over Russia visited AgroFarm to find out about current trends and state-of-the-art technologies. Many of the trade visitors took the opportunity to acquire knowledge in the accompanying workshops and conferences around the 13th AgroFarm on numerous issues relating to animal and poultry farming.

Many exhibitors at AgroFarm 2019 came from abroad, including companies from Germany (44), the largest group, followed by France (22), the Netherlands and Belarus (15 each), Italy (12), China (11) and Denmark (10). As in previous years, Germany and France had country pavilions. For the first time an official Dutch pavilion was organized. The Dutch pavilion also received high-ranking support from politicians - Ms Renée Jones-Bos, the country's ambassador to the Russian Federation, welcomed AgroFarm guests during the opening ceremony and underlined the cooperation potential of both countries, which share a very high level of agricultural production as a basis.

AgroFarm is regarded as a haven of innovation. This was impressively underlined by the presentation of 21 prestigious "AgroFarm Best" awards in the nominations "Best Product", "Best Scientific Development" and "Best Service".

The extensive range of exhibitors at AgroFarm 2019 was supplemented by a varied specialist programme. The specialist programme is unique in its form in Russia and is highly appreciated by trade visitors from all over Russia as a source of information. Especially top managers, plant managers and experts accepted the offer of the more than 60 trade events.

A special event at AgroFarm was this year's 10th anniversary conference of the National Milk Producers Association "Soyuzmoloko", which traditionally takes place as part of the trade fair. More than 600 people took part in the event, including managing directors and other high-ranking representatives of milk-producing and processing companies. D. Patrushev, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, who was present, emphasized in his speech that in 2018 the state spent more than 28.3 billion roubles on the development of the dairy industry. All state support programmes will remain in force in 2019 and, in addition, the list of supporting measures will be extended.

During the meeting, delegates decided to change leadership: German entrepreneur Steffan Dürr, considered Russia's largest milk producer, has taken over the leadership of the Milk Producers Association from Mr Andrei Danilenko.

A prominent visit to AgroFarm 2019 was also provided by the All-Russian Agricultural Conference, which was organised by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture for the first time at AgroFarm. Nearly 700 managing directors and high-ranking representatives of regional agricultural resorts and associated authorities took the opportunity after the annual meeting to find out in detail about the extensive range of products and services offered by the exhibitors and to inform themselves about technical innovations.

Within the scope of the specialist programme, current and practical topics from the areas of cattle, pig, poultry, sheep and goat production as well as aquaculture were discussed. A new area that met with great interest was events on ostrich and horse husbandry, which were part of the Agrofarm specialist programme for the first time in 2019.

AgroFarm is officially supported by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. Partner organizations are the National Union of Milk Producers "Soyuzmoloko", the National Union of Pig Farmers of Russia, the Russian Poultry Union "Rosptitsesoyuz" and the National Association of Industrial Cattle Farmers of Russia.

The next AgroFarm will take place from 4 to 6 February 2020 in Hall 75 at the VDNH Exhibition Centre in Moscow.
